Stay On The Groove - 2005 - 20 Modern Funk Anthems Compiled By Adrian Gibson

Freestyle (UK), 2005 One of the funkiest collections we've heard in a long time and that's saying a lot, considering that most of the work is of recent vintage! The set was put together in support of the rich range of modern acts who've been picking up the older deep funk vibe in the past decade or so , artists from the Desco years onward who've not only been loving the sound set down by James Brown, but who also know how to play and produce records that bristle with the same depth as older work! Adrian Gibson of Jazz Cafe fame brought the whole thing together, and given his experience at the frontline of the scene, he's got a well-tuned ear to pick out the best of the bunch.
