Fania DJ Series (Fania 2007)

Born in Galveston, TX, Barry White grew up singing gospel songs with his mother and taught himself to play piano. White made his recording debut at the tender age of 11, playing piano on Jesse Belvin's "Goodnight My Love."
starting slowly, for a meager 40$ a week, White started releasing music, while focousing on other tasks (he did A&R at the time). slowly his fame, and fortune grew.
His first album, was almost never released, white thought it was not worth it, but he was convinced otherwise.
it made the number one pop charts.
Over the next 5 years, he released many albums (Stone Gone and Let The Music Play are a few of those).

the next 20+ years were pent releasing some music, and preforming a lot.

White, who suffered from hypertension and chronic high blood pressure, was hospitalized for kidney failure in September of 2002. He was undergoing dialysis treatment, but the combination of illnesses proved too much and he died July 4, 2003 at a West Hollywood hospital. By the time of his death, Barry White had achieved a near-universal acclaim and popularity that few artists achieve and even fewer within their own lifetime.
